Registration of a New Private Museum

This form is a request to register a private museum in the Emirate of Sharjah in accordance with the principles set forth in the document on the conditions and standards for registering private museums with the Sharjah Museums Authority.

Terms And Conditions

Adherence to the concept of the museum as outlined in the attached document.
Observing basic legal, museum-related, and operational standards concerning museum management, preservation of exhibits, and services. Include references to relevant legal articles (in accordance with the law).
Highlighting the institutional identity indicating the private nature of the museum. (It is prohibited to use the name, logo, or images of Sharjah Museums Authority or its affiliated museums.)
Ensuring the authenticity of items displayed in the private museum.
- Private museums must not acquire items of questionable origin or obtained through illegal means, whether by purchase, gift, loan, or exchange, without legitimate ownership documents.
- Ownership documentation must not conflict with Law No. 20 of 2020 concerning cultural heritage in Sharjah and Federal Law No. 11 of 2017 of the UAE regarding antiquities.
Registration Steps:
- Step 1: Complete the initial registration form for private museums in Sharjah.
- (If preliminary registration is approved) - Step 2: Complete the detailed registration form for private museums in Sharjah.

Licensing Criteria

Licensing criteria form the fundamental basis for ensuring compliance with the laws and regulations related to the services or activities being licensed. These criteria aim to ensure the quality of services provided, protect the rights of beneficiaries, and enhance public safety. The criteria include the following points:

A detailed record of the museum's exhibits
Availability of guidance signs to access the museum
Availability of an identification sign on the museum building
Availability of a sign displaying the museum's working hours
Availability of safety measures, emergency exits, and clear pathways to and within the museum
The building's space suitability with the exhibits
Museum cleanliness, including protection from pests, rodents, and insects
Availability of suitable and sufficient restrooms, separated for men and women
Availability of adequate and appropriate parking spaces for museum visitors
